Ray's Profile

Ray is based centrally in Somerset where there are excellent transport links to all of the South West, South Wales and beyond.

 

Ray started his career as an apprentice draughtsman within a company manufacturing Navigation Aids equipment.  He went on to achieve qualifications in mechanical design and took his skills to a variety of companies on contract gaining valuable experience along the way.  In 1985 he joined a subsidiary of Modern Alarms and 2 years later was promoted to the position on Drawing Office Manager.

 

Early in the 1990’s Ray chose a career change into sales, initially selling the drawing office products he knew well, while learning the new skills required.  He went on to become Business Manager of a Worcester based company manufacturing and installing Fire Protection Systems and Heating/Ventilation/Air Conn. installations.  In 2000 he joined Richco International, a manufacturer of specialist plastic fastenings for electronics and manufacturing industries.  It was 2002 when he moved south to Somerset and took control of the southern region where he grew sales from £300,000 to over £1.6 Million.  Key accounts that he established and grew in that period included Aston Martin, Jaguar/Land Rover cars; Sunseeker Yachts, Toshiba and Siemens.  Ray has extensive experience in developing sales within manufacturing companies and distributors, at home and abroad.  With a history of business growth coupled with increased turnover and profitability, he has demonstrated the ability to identify and influence decision makers from design departments through to purchasing and Director level

 

More recently Ray has used this knowledge to the benefit of others through consultancy and training and can also boast of experience of Project + Budget Management, Staff Recruitment + Training, Capital Purchases, Working Practice & Procedure and the development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing/Kaizen processes.

 

Ray now works with Precept and utilises his knowledge and skills to enable small and medium sized businesses to realise, for themselves,  similar success that he has achieved, facilitating them to accomplish their desires for business growth.
