Phil is based in Quorn, Leicestershire and supports clients in the Leicester and Loughborough areas.
 
After leaving Bradford University School of Management, with an honours degree in Business Studies, Phil joined Blue Circle Industries on a graduate management training programme. While there, he worked on several major projects, including large scale overseas investments.
 
2 years later he moved into the electronic components industry, working in a number of sales and marketing positions within major UK and global distributors.
 
In the late eighties Phil joined Flint Distribution Ltd, a fledgling electronic component distributor, initially as sales manager. He was soon promoted to Sales Director, a position he held for 14 years. In those 14 years, Phil took sales from around £1m to a peak of £20m. The route to success was in his recruitment and training of the sales team, building a team of 36 sales and 10 marketing specialists. It was during this period when Phil developed his system of objectively measuring project based sales opportunities and created a methodology to allow a higher conversion rate of opportunities. It also provides management with a more in depth understanding of the projects and allows far greater accuracy in predicting future sales. Phil also developed a number of service initiatives and started and ran a number of new divisions within the group. In his last year at Flint Phil set up and ran the very successful semiconductor distributor “Spectre”.  
 
Since leaving Flint Phil has worked for Rockingham Motor Racing Stadium, where he restructured the sales force, instituting new procedures and systems to deliver sales growth. He led a project to computerise the corporate sales process and delivery of all the services and facilities that make up this 52,000 seat stadium. He also identified and led the implementation of a radical web based booking and management system for the consumer driving experiences at the circuit.
 
Phil also helped Kaiser + Kraft, the World leading mail order industrial products company, reorganise their UK operation. As Managing Director, after reviewing all aspects of the company, Phil identified and implemented the service initiatives necessary to re-establish growth in the important UK market.  
 
Phil’s particular areas of expertise are in setting strategy, identifying and measuring market needs and identifying niches, developing integrated sales and marketing plans, recruiting and developing sales and marketing professionals and managers.
 
Phil is an accredited associate of the Institute for Independent Business.
